MSSD JOHOR BAHRU CHESS TOURNAMENT 2013

7th & 8th February 2013 - This year, the district level Chess Tournament was held quite early. SMKTUN's team was there to compete against other schools but we did not set any high hope as there were many new faces.

I couldn't get many photos taken as the competitions were held in classrooms so moving around was a bit tough. At the same time, I had to be on duty in one of the rooms. Only on the second day, I managed to get some photos of the team members taken.

Surprisingly, we brought home some medals and won a few places for the group category. Here is the full result:

Boys under 15 - Champion
Girls under 15 - 3rd place
Girls under 18 - 3rd place

INDIVIDUAL CATEGORY:

Girls under 18:
4th place - Cheah Wan Yee
8th place - Nur Nasreen Suhaimi

Boys under 18:
4th place - Neo Ze Hao
9th place - lim Zi Yong

Boys under 15:
4th place - Lim Hon Ting
7th place - Lai Kai Jun   

Congratulations to all the members of the Chess Team. We need to plan more activities after the State level competition and hopefully many more people will be interested to join the club.
