THE HISTORIC GOLD-MINING TOWN OF ARROWTOWN

2nd December 2013 ~ Arrowtown was once a gold-mining town of the South Island in the 18th century. It was so famous that it attracted the Chinese immigrants to come here. They were not that welcomed by the locals though and other than the "cowboy town", visitors could also see the settlement of the Chinese immigrants nearby. If I am not mistaken, they did not stay long for the winter was too cruel and life was too hard for them.

The moral of the story: you could always find the Chinese everywhere you go.
