MY MEDAN GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE - AYAM PENYET CINDE LARAS

29TH JANUARY 2017 ~ After checking in at the hotel in the evening, it was time to go on our gastronomic adventure. With Mr. Irham Mukhriz acting as our official tour guide in the city, he first took us to this restaurant called "Dapur Cinde Laras" (which I first read as "CINDERELLAS").

There was slight differences between the "nasi ayam penyet" (TRANSLATE: rice with smashed chicken) sold in Indonesia and Malaysia. In Medan (and other places in Indonesia), the "sambal" (squashed chili) was hotter, the side vegetable/salad was of a different type and there was no soup. And, the chicken was smaller too. I however still loved the original version just the same.

I also managed to meet with Mr. Irwan Nurhakim, Mr. Irham's brother, who is also studying there, together with his friend.

Once everyone had a happy tummy, it was then time to explore the city of Medan.
