ANGKLUNG PERFORMANCE FOR A DINNER FUNCTION OF UTM'S FACULTY OF COMPUTING - PART ONE

23rd MAY 2017 ~ The Angklung Group of SMK Taman Universiti was invited to perform during a dinner function organized by the Faculty of Computing, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). The event was in conjunction with ICT International Project Conference and was held at a restaurant named Malay Village in town. The arrangement was made in just about a week but the boys were lucky as they did not have any exam the following day because the school was having its Teacher's Day celebration. I was glad all the 15 of them could make it so we just needed a short practice session before the real performance.

the simple pleasure in life: to be able to travel in the same bus
in a group and
to sit at the back of the bus

Here's the short report of the activities that happened before the performance, in chronological order:

4:00 p.m. - angklung players assembled in school and had a short practice
5:45 p.m. - boarded the UTM bus and left school
6:15 p.m. - arrived at Malay Village Restaurant
6.20 p.m. - familiarized ourselves with the place and had another short practice
6:45 p.m. - dinner was served [yeay]
7:10 p.m. - went to the nearby mosque for Maghrib prayer
7:50 p.m. - we were almost ready to shake the angklung
