YASAKA-JINJA SHRINE IN GION - PART 1


19th MARCH 2017 ~ This was one place we never had any plan to visit. We just saw it there, located at a very busy T-junction with a zebra crossing and people were crossing in a huge number. The place was very bright and many people, including tourists, were walking in and out - so we decided to follow the flow. Furthermore, it was free of charge. ☺


We were greeted with some kind of a food fair where there were rows of stalls selling all kinds of food. It did not have the atmosphere of a shrine/temple at first.
















Then only we arrived at the temple/area where there were big orange buildings all around. However, I loved the one with many lanterns hanging from the roof the most.
















This should be my very first time visiting a temple at night.
